The PCHE (Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger), PHE (Plate Heat Exchanger) or Shell-and-tube heat exchanger are generally used in the LNG shipping and heavy industry or aerospace industry and so on. The United States and Europe have most of worldwide market share of micro heat exchangers but domestic research is just on the first step and has a big entry barrier. Therefore, we have been developing a new concept of micro heat exchanger using micro cellular structure as a heat transfer medium such as metal-foam structure which has high porosity and extremely wide heat transfer area per unit volume that enhances heat transfer performance. This project has been conducted from December 2013 approved by Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy.
